Perfect slicing blade!
I wanted this blade for slicing thicker slices than the blades that came with my processor. This one filled the bill perfectly! I love my KitchenAid Food Processor! This blade cuts perfect slices each and everytime.

good blade to have.
My KA food processor came with the 2mm disc which is too fine for cole slaw. That's why I ordered this one. But I think it's too thick for cole slaw, so now I have to order the 4mm disc. But it's still a good thickness to have for many other foods.
Makes Uniform 1/4-Inch Thick Slices
This "thick" (6mm) slicing disc slices firm fruits and vegetables into uniform 1/4-inch slices. The thickness is perfect for peaches, peppers, apples, or other foods that I'm drying in a food dehydrator. However, I would like to have slightly thicker raw potato slices when I make scalloped potatoes. I only wish that KitchenAid would offer an "extra thick" (8mm) disc like Cuisinart does. I always use this slicing disc instead of the "fine" (2mm) slicing disc that came with my 9-cup food processor. The 2mm disc makes paper-thin slices. Because this 6mm slicing disc performs well and makes the right thickness of slice for a lot of dishes, I rate it at 5 stars.
