Looks Good and Works Smoothly
We've had a hand mixer for years and the handle has finally fallen off; although it is still usable my wife decided it would be nice to have a new one.
I started researching Amazon reviews for one that got uniformly good reviews and couldn't find one; there were good reviews and seriously critical reviews on virtually all of the hand mixers that had reviews.
I kept look and finally found this one that looked good and was widely sold (I used Google to search the web) and found this mixer was available from a number of sources and most importantly from Amazon. There were no reviews so I decided to live life on the edge and just take a chance on this mixer.
I ordered it and it came in today; our first impressions of it are very favorable. It looks professional with a shiny competence that inspires our confidence. It works smoothly with no binding or any other apparent problems. It does have the gap at the bottom that was mentioned on some other reviews...

Just like Gramma used to use
Really nice. After reading the reviews for all the other egg beaters we were really wondering if anyone actually made a decent egg beater any more. This one seemed the best and - surprise - it seems great! First class all the way with every part seemingly manufactured to last. Very smooth operating and visible quality. Highly recommended.
Not worth the money
When I opened the package I was expecting an all metal, well made appliance (I knew about the plastic gears). What I found was a cheap "Made in China" thing that I could have bought at Wal Mart for half the price. The handle insert and turning knob are plastic, painted to look like steel. The mechanical workings of it are on par with anything I can buy locally at half the price. I bought this to replace one that had fallen apart, one that was built just like this one.
I saw great reviews. I thought I did my homework. I thought I was getting something of quality. I was sorely disappointed.
